Acaba de desembarcar por aqui o ''Softspoken'', lançamento deste ano da Sorry Shop pela Crooked Tree Records. O álbum tem a missão de suceder o elogiado ''Mnemonic Syncretism'', de 2013. Sons oníricos e cativantes são a marca deste álbum, que mostra a habilidade da banda em produzir uma espécie de psicodelia shoegaze, se é que se pode dizer assim.

Em ''Softspoken'', camadas de guitarras e vocais soterrados produzem uma poderosa combinação instrumental e poética, a qual permeia por todas as canções. As letras são bem interessantes e ao que tudo indica, no conjunto da obra, sugerem o fluxo de uma história, ou uma viagem onírica, como já dito antes – se não foi proposital, o resultado ficou genial. Até a 5ª faixa, ''Lost in Between'', somos convidados a mergulhar num sonho distorcido, etéreo, que de certa forma traduz-se no refrão ”Again / Lost in between”. A 6º canção, que dá nome ao disco, mais curta e suave, sugere uma transição “Ao lado de lá” ao finalizar com a emblemática frase: “I have a little secret / no one knows”. A partir desse ponto as músicas falam de segredos e imagens oníricas ainda mais etéreos. Destaque para ''Queen of the North'' e ''Keepsake'', que reforçam essa ideia de imersão e segredos. O disco termina com um convite e uma constatação “Come out to play / Nowhere safe”.

É notório as referências da banda que vai do dream pop do Slowdive ao shoegaze do My Bloody Valentine, mas The Sorry Shop tem um caminho único para as suas canções cheias de originalidade – formada por Marcos Alaniz (Vocais, guitarra e percussão), Mônica Reguffe (Contrabaixo e vocais), Régis Garcia (Guitarra), Kelvin Tomaz (Guitarra e vocais) e Eduardo Custódio (Bateria).

Dentro da proposta da banda o álbum é muito bem produzido e teve um bom trabalho de mixagem e masterização, graças a própria Sorry Shop, que deixou as músicas fáceis de se ouvir. Quando apreciado com cuidado, a experiência é ainda melhor. A cada compasso um detalhe, uma dica do que está por vir – pode também não ter sido intencional, mas, como nos sonhos, ''Softspoken'' acaba sem nos avisar. Na melhor parte, incrível!

O álbum também saiu hoje pelo selo dos gaúchos Lovely Noise Records.
